Cinnamon Protein French Toast
A blood sugar–friendly take on a classic, using sourdough and Equip’s Cinnamon Roll Prime Protein for a nourishing, high-protein start to the day.
Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
4 slices of organic sourdough
2 eggs
¼ cup milk of choice (I like to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
2 tbsp half and half
1 scoop @equipfoods Cinnamon Roll Prime Protein
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Ghee or butter, for cooking
Instructions
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, almond milk, half and half, cinnamon, and protein powder until smooth. You may want to use a hand frother to fully mix in the protein powder.
Soak each slice of sourdough in the mixture for a few minutes per side, making sure it’s fully coated.
Heat ghee or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook each slice for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings — I love grass-fed ghee or butter, a drizzle of maple syrup, or berries.
